Elmwood Virginia Fire Station

In addition to holding bunk rooms, showers and locker room for male and female firefighters, the new firehouse also serves as a showcase for the Fire Department, including displays of historic artifacts and tools from the department’s historical museum.
 
A highlight in the lobby is a series black-painted steel panels cut and welded into the silhouetted forms of firefighters at work. Created by Fire Lieutenant John A. Lydon who oversaw the construction, it was fabricated by Griffis studios.
